Needing Career Advice

I’m feeling dissatisfied with my job. Quite dissatisfied actually. As a company, we’re currently in a period of many people resigning and it’s making me worried about the future of the company. I’ve voiced my concerns to my higher-ups and it seems to go nowhere. It’s really worrying and it shows me that my work doesn’t really care about its employees as much as I wish it did.

Surely if my work cared about its staff, it would do what it could to keep people around. Now we’re in this awkward situation where we are trying to hire new employees but no one wants to come and work for us because we’re paying below the industry average for the roles. It’s embarrassing. It’s actually made me want to seek some career change advice. Melbourne is full of job opportunities at the moment, in fact, employers everywhere are screaming out for staff. I’m sure I could get a job in whatever industry I choose, if I decide I want to follow suit and quit as my coworkers have done.

This whole thing is just really disappointing. When I first started working here I was so happy and had so much hope for the future of the company. I thought I was going to stay here for at least ten years, but I have a feeling this ship is sinking and I need to get off it before it’s too late. I think I’m really in need of some career counselling. Local to Melbourne, career counsellors seem to be really good at what they do, so I’m hoping someone can help. I just need to know what to do. Considering looking for a new job is scary and I know it’s a big process and could be a big change. But also, staying in a job where I’m not valued or accepted would surely be worse. I don’t think I can cope with not feeling like I matter.
