I’m defecting. I can’t take this any longer – there’s so much pressure now that these blog posts are blowing up. Every day when I come into work, I worry that Mechanist Uprising will have figured it out. They’ll know that I’m the one putting secret messages out there for the world to see. There will be two guys in trenchcoats standing at my desk, ready to take me out back and throw me into one of those machines they invented that chomp you up into so many pieces that the only thing which remains of you is dust. As much as I love working near the 2D animation company that gets the inside knowledge on the Mechanist Uprising, I simply can’t take it anymore.
So yeah, I’m out. This is going to be my last day. But don’t worry, because I still need some sort of job. What will I be doing? I’ll be taking this little side gig full time, baby. The world is a scary place these days, and I’m honoured to be a beacon of hope to everybody out there. As with any dystopian nightmare, there is always a Resistance that gathers. I was recently contacted by somebody in the Resistance, who suggested I start up an underground radio show, keeping all you wonderful fans of mine updated on the goings-on of this nightmare that is reality.
How could I say no to that? I thought working at a company near the best corporate video production company around Melbourne was a dream come true. But with this, I’ll actually be making a real difference. It’s dangerous to stand up against our oppressors, true, but it can’t be more dangerous than what I’m currently doing. I have no desire to get chewed up out the back of this office. I’d rather take a stand and let these Mechanists know that we aren’t going to bow down and accept the new world which they’ve created. I’m going to fight back because that’s the only way things are going to go back to normal!
