Festival Driver

I’m responsible for transporting a mascot to and from the local cheese festival on the Mornington Peninsula. The festival goes along the entirety of the coast from Mordialloc to Sorrento and I have to drive between the festival locations each day. I’m transporting Cheesy the Cheese Cube each day, and let me tell you, it’s a big job. If I stuff it up then the festivals will be without their main attraction and I won’t get paid. I can’t have that happen.

That’s why I visited a car mechanic local to Frankston last week before the festival began. I wanted to make sure that my car was in good shape before being responsible for the festival’s precious cargo. Imagine if my car broke down on my way to the next event. I’d probably have a panic attack and a very angry Cheesy the Cheese Cube sitting in my backseat.

Cheesy really does look the part. He’s an impressive guy. I often wonder whether he’s actually a person or indeed is a cheese cube. I’ve never seen him take his costume off, and it doesn’t seem possible for a human to fit in the cube shape costume that he wears. It would be odd and unnatural. But anyway, that’s not the point of this post. It doesn’t matter to me whether or not Cheesy the Cheese Cube is a real person or not, it just matters that I get him to his destination safely and on time.

During the car service, the mechanic told me that he did some suspension repairs. In the Frankston area, there are sections of road that are really hard on a car’s suspension, which is why I had to get suspension repairs. I was fine with that. I’d rather get it repaired a week prior than have to get an emergency suspension repair during transit from festival to festival. Bye for now.
