After the Storm

Those storms were crazy last night, weren’t they? I was asleep when it started, but I was woken by the wind. It sounded like a giant troll was battering my house –the windows were creaking, the bricks were shaking, and the tree branches were dragging themselves across my home’s exterior. It was pretty scary stuff. To make matters worse, a particularly large (and loud) shake caused my television to plummet from its mounting on the wall, right to the floor. Naturally, my TV shattered on the ground. That definitely woke me up.

This morning I had to go through the whole process of claiming the damage with my insurance company, then going to the shops to search for a new television, then finding one of the best TV wall mounting service providers Melbourne has to offer, so they can install my new television. I’ve spoken to all of my friends, and apparently, I’m the only one who has ever experienced this television-falling-off-the-wall phenomenon. It’s very clear that the company who installed it last time didn’t do a good job. That’s why, this time around, I’m only willing to employ the best. It helps a little bit that I have the backing of my insurance company’s funds, as it’s much easier for my own conscience to use their money than the cash that’s currently sitting in my bank account.

Another problem I’m attributing to the storms was something I didn’t notice until later today, and that’s my slow internet. It was fine last night, so it seems likely that the excessive wind and rain was what caused the disruption. I looked for information on how to fix slow internet at home by yourself, but most of the articles suggested that if it didn’t improve on its own I would have to call somebody in to help. Another thing to spend money on! Oh well, I do need the internet, so it’s not like I can just ignore the problem.
